At Red Cloud Renewable, our Solar Education Program is dedicated to advancing Native American communities through comprehensive training in the solar industry. Held at our Red Cloud Renewable Energy Center on the Pine Ridge Reservation, our program provides free, high-quality training to Native Americans from any tribe, with sessions lasting between 2 to 5 weeks.
Our training is structured into two key programs;
This co-ed program prepares participants with the essential skills and knowledge needed to embark on a successful career in solar energy. Through hands-on experience and expert instruction, students gain a robust foundation to start their journey in the renewable energy sector. Upon completion of the program, students receive a certification that demonstrates their proficiency in PV installation. This certification is highly regarded in the industry and can open doors to new career opportunities.
Solar Pre Apprenticeship Readiness Program (Pre-ARP):
Bridging Renewable Industry Divides in Gender Equality (or) B.R.I.D.G.E. Program
Native American women make up less than .05% of the solar workforce, at Red Cloud Renewable, we want to change that…Designed specifically for Native American women, this program addresses the unique challenges they may face in entering the solar industry. We understand the importance of removing barriers to participation, which is why we provide essential support such as travel stipends, childcare stipends, meals and lodging, ensuring that no obstacle stands in the way of your success. By focusing on gender-specific needs, the BRIDGE program ensures that women have the support and resources necessary to thrive in this field.
The importance of Native workforce development extends beyond the Pine Ridge Reservation, impacting reservations across the nation. By providing valuable job skills and fostering career opportunities, we help Native Americans support their families and contribute to their communities. Simultaneously, our efforts align with broader environmental goals, advancing sustainability and promoting a greener planet. This dual impact reflects our commitment to both economic empowerment and environmental stewardship, resonating with the traditional Native American values of harmony with nature.
